load documents to squarespace

First, access File Storage:
  1. Login to your squarespace site
  2. Click on Website Management
  3. Under Data & Media click on File Storage
Then, create a new directory (or skip this section to load files to an existing directory):
  1. Click on Create Directory
  2. Enter a name for your directory, include a description if required
  3. Click on Save & Close
OR

Select an existing directory (or skip this section to load files to main "storage" directory):
  1. Click on name of existing directory
Then, upload files:
  1. Click on Upload Files
  2. Click on Select Files
  3. Locate the file(s) to be uploaded (use Shift or Control to select multiple files)
  4. Click on Begin Upload
  5. Once files are uploaded, click on URL to view the full URL of the document

You can also upload a ZIP file, but first make sure you check the 'Decompress Zip Files After Uploading' box.

To create a subfolder:

Uploading file/files in cPanel File Manager

  1. Login to your cPanel (http://yourdomain.com.au/cpanel) using the login details provided by your webhost

  2. Click on the File Manager button on the home page

  3. Navigate to the folder where you want to upload your files, by using the following:
    • Open a folder by double-clicking on the folder icon or on the folder name
    • Go up a level by checking the box next to the folder name, then clicking on the 'Up One Level' icon

  4. Create a new folder (if required) by clicking on the New Folder icon (top row of icons):

    • Enter the name for the new folder
    • Make sure you are creating the folder in the right place
    • Click on the Create New Folder button

  5. Click on the Upload icon:

  6. You will be taken to a screen with a list of 3 file upload fields:

  7. Click on the first Browse.. (or Choose File) button.

  8. Search for and double-click on the first file to upload. The upload will begin automatically.

  9. Repeat the above steps for each file you want to upload.

  10. If you need to add more files, click on Add Another Upload Box.

  11. When the upload completes, click on Back to /home to close the Upload files window.

  12. The new files you have uploaded should now be listed in the folder.

  13. Close File Manager by simply closing the window.

  14. Exit out of cPanel.

embed a youtube video in your wordpress site

In YouTube:

  1. Click on the <Embed> button underneath the video
  2. Uncheck all the tick boxes
  3. Select 640 x 505 (or enter custom sizes in the Custom fields)
  4. Click on the code and copy (⌘-C)


In WordPress:
  1. Edit/create new Post/Page
  2. Paste code (⌘-P)

Uploading file/files in File Manager

You can use the File Manager to upload files to your web site. You can upload both a single file or several files at a time, up to 10 files at once.

  1. Login to your Control Panel (http://yourdomain.com.au/cp) using the login details provided with your Welcome email

  2. Click on the File Manager button on the home page

  3. Navigate to the folder where you want to upload your files, by using the following:
    • Open a folder by clicking on the folder icon or on the folder name
    • Go up a level by clicking on the 'Up' button

  4. FOR A SINGLE FILE UPLOAD: scroll down to the bottom of the file list and click on the Browse.. (or Choose File) button next to the Upload File: field.

  5. Search for and double-click the file you'd like to upload from your local computer and then click on the Upload button.

  6. The upload will start and when it is finished, the screen will refresh and your new file should show up in the file list.

  7. FOR A MULTIPLE FILE UPLOAD: please use the Multi button next to the Upload File: field.

  8. You will be taken to a screen with a list of 10 file upload fields.

  9. Click on the Browse.. (or Choose File) button next to one of the top fields.

  10. Search for and double-click on the first file to upload.

  11. Repeat the above steps for each file you want to upload.

  12. Click on the Upload button when you have finished selecting files.

  13. When the upload completes the screen will refresh and you will be taken back to the file/folder list where the newly uploaded files should show up.

create an email account

To create an email account:

  1. Login to your Control Panel using the login details provided with your Welcome email

  2. Open your web hosting Control Panel's Mail Manager section.

  3. Enter the username of the new account in the "Create New Account" field. Enter the password, which you would like to assign to that mailbox in the fields below.

  4. Click on the "Add" button.

Note: For security reasons your password cannot be shorter than 6 symbols as well as it cannot be similar to the mailbox name.

add audio files to your wordpress blog

These instructions will add your audio files to your Media Library.
  1. From your Dashboard, click on the Media link in the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Click on Add New
If you are using the Flash uploader:
  1. Click on Select Files
  2. Select the appropriate file, then click on Select
  3. Once the file has been uploaded, you can add further details including:
    • Title
    • Caption
    • Description

  4. Click on Save all changes
If you are using the Browser uploader:
  1. Click on Choose File
  2. Choose the appropriate file, then click on Choose
  3. Click on Upload
Your audio files are now in your Media Library ready to include in your posts/pages.

To insert an audio player in a post/page:
  1. Edit your post/page
  2. Click on the musical notes next to Upload/Insert
  3. Click on the Media Library tab
  4. Click on Show next to the appropriate audio filename
  5. Click on the Audio Player button under the Link URL field
  6. Click on Insert into Post
Combine the two processes to insert a file from your computer directly into your post/page.
  1. Edit your post/page
  2. Click on the musical notes next to Upload/Insert
  3. Click on Choose File
  4. Choose the appropriate file, then click on Choose
  5. Click on Upload
  6. Once the file has been uploaded, click on the Audio Player button under the Link URL field
  7. Click on Insert into Post
Your file will be inserted into your page/post as an audio player, and it will be stored in the Media Library as well!

create html email signatures in Mac Mail

  1. Create your html email signature using an HTML editor (or get Rae to create one for you!)
  2. Open Mail
  3. From the Mail menu select Preferences (⌘-,)
  4. Click on Composing and ensure Message Format: is Rich Text
  5. Click on Signatures, then click on the + sign to create a new signature (this process works best if you have only one signature, so delete any old signatures not in use)
  6. Close Mail
  7. Open Safari
  8. From the File menu select Open File (⌘-O)
  9. Open the HTML file you created or imported in Step 1
  10. From the File menu select Save As (⌘-S)
  11. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to the user Library folder on your hard drive
  12. In the Library folder, scroll down to the Mail folder, then scroll down to the Signatures folder.
  13. In the Signatures folder you should see two files: one will be a .webarchive file and the other a .plist file
  14. Click on the .webarchive file to overwrite the existing file, ensure the file format is Web Archive the click on Save
  15. Open Mail
  16. Check your Preferences (⌘-,) again to ensure the signature is connected to your mail account
  17. Check your signature is working by sending yourself a test email (if you've got a second email account, eg, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc, send yourself a test to that email as well!)
